John was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in November 2016. He had various treatments, some more successful than others, but sadly lost his battle with cancer on 12th May 2019. He was always very positive, cheerful and philosophical and bore his illness with fortitude. He was keen to contribute to research into this horrible disease, and even when very unwell he enrolled onto a clinical trial in Newcastle, in the hope that this might benefit future generations. He will be sadly missed. As many people asked us where to send contributions, we decided to set up this fund in his memory, and we have been very moved by the generous donations received and the tributes paid to John. His funeral was held on 12th June, a wonderful service of thanksgiving for a wonderful man. Donations received on that day were added to the fund. Thanks to everyone for their support.
